Introducing "Practical Trips" - Challenging trips where Islamic leadership theory is put into practice
If tarbiyah or personal development is just read and spoken about then there is a real risk of turning it into an abstraction—that means something that exists only in thought or as an idea but has no physical and relatable existence.
The more you try to intellectualize it, the further it becomes. That is because tarbiyah—the process of nurturing characteristics—the very nature of the subject requires that you are capable of putting your values and beliefs into action.
Take for example, forbearance. It is a characteristic of a leader. It embodies meanings of patience, control and endurance. In order to develop this quality a student must be exposed to real situations where he can be tested against this characteristic. If that is not accommodated for then this characteristic will remain undeveloped or worse, an abstract idea.
Subsequently, classroom study alone is not sufficient.
If that’s the problem then what’s the solution?

It is our deepest belief that this is something our learning institutions are deeply in need of. Few Islamic institutes, if any, are doing what we are doing. It is new. And we are pioneering the way.
Join us in creating a new brand of development where theory and practice are one.
Thank you and may Allah bless you!!
