Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My son Alfie aged 10 from Barnsley is a huge Leeds United fan along with his dad Adam. After completing the Panini Premier League sticker book during lockdown and winning a flag from Yorkshire Cancer Research, Alfie decided he wanted to auction his sticker book to raise funds for the charity. His grandparents and step-grandad have all been impacted by cancer and Alfie is determined to raise awareness and make a difference.
As a thank you, Alfie received a huge surprise during a charity Zoom meeting when Leeds United captain Liam Cooper joined the call to personally thank him for his fundraising effort and offer his support going forward. Alfies sticker book was personally signed by Liam Cooper and raised £305 on eBay for Yorkshire Cancer Research. He also raised another £300 with some help from his school after a non uniform day.
Alfie’s fundraising story has been shared on social media sites including Twitter, Facebook and YouTube as well as in the Yorkshire Evening Post and the Barnsley Chronicle. Alfie and his dad also did a live Zoom interview on tv news channel GB News!
This fundraising page has been set up for anyone who would like to support Alfie with a donation to Yorkshire Cancer Research, no matter how big or small. He will be grateful to each and every one of you for helping him along his fundraising mission. He really is the most kind hearted young boy with a passion for helping people.
You can find his story in the news section of the Yorkshire Cancer Research website and also on the Leeds United website as well as their Facebook pages.
