Story
I thought the Half was hard... now it's time for the Full Monty.
This April I'll be the catch of the day on the south coast seafront as I attempt to cross the Brighton Marathon finish line in a semi-respectable time.
And why, I hear you ask, will I be putting my grandpa knees and creaky back through this fresh hell?
Well...I'll be doing all this to raise money for the Terrence Higgins Trust (THT), the UK's leading HIV and Sexual Health Charity.
Since 1982 the THT has been devoted to supporting those living with HIV and fighting the stigma that goes with this diagnosis.
They help people with HIV live happy and healthy lives and are committed to their vision of ending HIV transmission. Their tireless campaigning and fundraising over the last 4 decades mean that that vision is now within touching distance.
Not only this but the THT offer a huge range of sexual health services and resources – keeping people educated and safe!
Medical advances in recent years have meant that if you are HIV positive but on treatment and have an undetectable viral load, there is a 0% chance of you passing it on to a sexual partner! Undetectable = Untransmissible! #U=U However, the fight is not over, attitudes haven’t kept up with the science and people with HIV are still hugely stigmatised.
The THT’s work for the LGBT community and all those living with HIV is truly amazing - I’m so excited to be able support such a wonderful organisation.
So please if you can spare a few pennies – drop a donation – it would mean the world 😊
Lots of Love!
