Story
Sunday 28th April 2019 - I will be running the London Marathon.
The main reason I wanted to run for Breast Cancer Now is because of my Mum. As you may know, just over 5 years ago, in 2013, my mum was diagnosed with stage 2 Breast Cancer. She had Chemotheraphy, Radiotheraphy and a double mastectomy.
5 years on she has beaten it and we recently celebrated her 5 years clear! I am so proud of my mum and I want to be able to give something back.
This Charity created a community of support for my mum and all her friends that she was battling this awful disease with! It's a charity that means a lot to me so I need to give something back.
We need to stick together as everyone has unfortunately seen cancer effect someone they love. No one wants to live a life without a Mum, Wife, Sister, Daughter, Auntie, Niece, Best Friend - and one day hopefully we never have to again.
More women than ever are surviving breast cancer thanks to better awareness, better screening and better treatments. Around five out of six women diagnosed in the UK today will be alive in five years’ time, compared to three out of six women 40 years ago. However, nearly 1,000 women still die of breast cancer every month in the UK.
Please, please, please help me raise money for Breast Cancer Now and any support you can give me would appreciate it.
