Story
Alfie Ibbotson's Popular Beat Combo became acutely aware of the effects of dementia and of the activities of Alzheimer's Society when a close family member of one of the band became affected by this awful condition.
During the recent lengthy period of enforced inactivity, the band have beavered away to create a 10-track album of original rock/blues material, recorded in various locations and professionally mixed in the USA. We have labelled this the 'C19' project (for obvious reasons) and the album is titled 'The Long Road Home'.
Having witnessed at first hand the devastating effects of early-onset Alzheimer's, we are determined to do what we can to support the efforts of Alzheimer's Society to help support those in need and to fund future research towards a cure.
We hope that you will join in and help us. Please make a donation, supply your postal address to the email address keyofh@outlook.com, (or message us via Instagram or Facebook), and we will happily send you a copy of the CD. You can see the artwork on this page. As you can see, a lot of work has gone into this project over 14 months or so.
How much, we hear you say? Well, that is up to you. £10-£15 would be more than generous, but there is no need to limit yourselves to that, should you feel moved to support this great cause, especially as many of you who may have followed the band over the past few years will know the person affected and will be greatly moved by her story.
It's worth mentioning that 100% of your donation will go to the cause.
Thank you in advance from Tony, Paul and the two Ians.
