I'd always been a supporter of the fantastic work Macmillan do, although more through hearsay than anything else, but recently I experienced first-hand the care, advice and support the charity provides to both cancer sufferers and their families, as Macmillan Nurse Rachel Davis was there for my mother, father, brother and me in the last few days before my mother's death on 21st September 2010.

Although I got this marathon place through the ballot and therefore have no fixed fundraising target, I'd like to give something back to Macmillan by raising as much as possible.
