Story
On August 21st, I will be cycling from John O’Groats - the most Northern heights of Scotland, to Lands End - the most Southerly tip of England. The combined mileage of this endeavor will be somewhere in the region of 1100 miles. This is undoubtedly a hugely physical challenge for which I have already begun training. Of course, being the unconventional type and having a predisposition to make things as difficult as I can for myself, I will firstly be undertaking this challenge alone and I will be approaching this challenge, from Scotland downwards. This will mean heading into the prevailing southwesterly winds. But hey I’m Saxby so I can do it! Through lengthy preparation, and laborious map reading, I project that I will be approximately cycling a minimum of 100 kilometers a day.
Though I thrive on challenging myself, at the same time this cycle represents a brilliant opportunity to raise money for Cancer Research UK. So many people are effected by cancer on a daily basis from the sufferers to their families and their friends. It is one of the greatest evils that we face in our daily lives. However preaching aside, I, or in fact, we would all, be very grateful, if you could dig deep and contribute to ridding the world of this terrible disease.
Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now. Thank you!
