Story
Alex was one of those rare people who truly enriched the lives of everyone he knew. His warmth and kindness put everyone at ease and his sharp humour kept us laughing everyday. His commitment to living life to the full, his loving and caring nature and his unwavering enthusiasm have left an enduring mark on us all.
Alex was the best husband, father, son, brother and friend that anyone could ask for. His wife, Emily, and daughter, Cece, were the light of his life and never was he happier than when he was with his girls. He was a committed Arsenal fan, an avid Playstation gamer, and had a Simpsons or Friends quote for almost any situation!
Words cannot begin to describe the heartbreak and emptiness we all feel through losing Alex. Our lives will never be the same again, but our hearts are full with the love and happy memories he shared with each of us.
As a family, we are eternally grateful to the The National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery - known as Queen Square - who looked after Alex since his diagnosis in 2014. The hospital meant the world to Alex and it is thanks to the world-class medical team and their dedication to groundbreaking research that Alex enjoyed so many happy years. The National Brain Appeal raises funds for Queen Square and this charity has long been close to the hearts of both Alex and our family. Alex and Emily raised money for The National Brain Appeal in lieu of wedding gifts and we know he would want to continue supporting them in his memory. This page has been set up for anyone wishing to make a donation to honour Alex's memory and to help support the vital work at Queen Square.
A sincere thank you to all who have been in touch with the family. We have all been overwhelmed and truly moved by everyone's kindness and messages of condolence. Alex meant so much to so many and we love hearing all of your stories and fun memories and seeing your photos and videos, they really lift us up.
Thank you to everyone who wishes to make a donation, however big or small, we are so grateful.
All donations will be sent directly to The National Brain Appeal.
We love you Alex.
