Story

I hope to raise £1500 for St Gemma's Hospice. A wonderful charity which provides essential services to people suffering life-limiting illnesses. There are simply not enough words to describe the work this charity does.

Simply put, £1,000 raised will pay for a full weekend of care at St Gemma's for somebody living with a terminal illness. Last Year, 26% of St Gemma's income came in the form of a grant from the NHS. The rest is made in donations from the public. On average, it costs St Gemma's £26,000 a day to run all of their services.

The Walk

The Yorkshire three peaks form part of the pennine range. They are made up of Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-ghent. From the top of Whernside; on a clear day you can see the Lake District and Morecambe Bay. The Route for this challenge is 24.5miles (39.4km) and involves ascending over 5200ft.
