Flora London Marathon 2007 · 22 April 2007 ·

Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by the sudden cardiac death. We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

On April 22nd I'll be running the London Marathon.  I'm running with 3 friends from St. John's for a charity called CRY, Cardiac Risk in the Young, dedicated to research into SADS, sudden adult (arrhythmic) death syndrome.  The condition causes young healthy people to drop dead for no apparent reason - post mortems record no cause of death.  A very close friend of mine, Duncan Mulholland, was struck down in this way in November last year and we're supporting the charity with him and his family in mind, as well as hoping to generate funds that will be put to good use in helping science to get to grips with this phenomenon and save lives.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cardiac Risk in the Young will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
