Alex is running the 2012 Marathon for the charity DebRA.

 

DebRA is the national charity working on behalf of people in the UK with the genetic skin blistering condition Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB).

 

People with the more severe types of EB also have an exceptionally high risk of developing skin cancers, shortening their lives by approximately 30-40 years. In its most severe form, the condition is fatal in infancy.

 

Your donation can really help make a difference

 

£1 will provide ‘scratch mitts’ to prevent a baby born with EB from tearing their own skin

£5 could buy a pair of silver fibre gloves or socks that promote comfort and can assist in fighting acute skin conditions

£10 could buy a month’s supply of cooling mist spray to reduce the itch and discomfort in warm weather

£25 could pay for one hour of research to bring us closer to finding an effective treatment for EB

£100 is the average cost of dressings needed every two days
