Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As some of you may know this is the second time I have voluntered for Raleigh and this time I will be working with Local Communities and Projects in Costa Rica and Nicaragua. I have included some information about the projects I may be doing below. Any money you kindly donate will help me and Raleigh complete these projects, paying for things such as the tools that will be used to complete the projects.
I will be funding personal things such as flights and kit.
You can also donate by text by sending RICA88 followed by £1,2,3,4,5 or £10 to 70070. eg: RICA88 £1.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Raleigh is not just about an expedition; it's about being part of a community of like-minded people. Ordinary people who want to do something extraordinary with their lives, make a difference in the world and new friends along the way. Our vision is to inspire a generation to be all that they can be; to awaken a sense of life-purpose and belonging, and unite them as part of a global community who can work together to rise to the challenges of the world we live in
La Calera, Achapa, Nicaragua
Raleigh will be working on a project to bring clean and safe drinking water to 14 families in La Calera. At present the local people get their water from the river which often dries up in summer or comes from polluted water sources.. Raleigh International volunteers will be working with the local population to dam small streams, build tanks to collect the water from where it can run through pipes to all the local houses. Volunteers will be living directly with families in the village and will help out with their day to day tasks.
Camaronal - Tree planting and turtle conservation
This is the first time we have worked in this unique protected area famous for its nesting turtles. In 2008 they reported over 5,000 turtle nests during the period of June to November on this 3km long beach found in the Nicoya Peninsula. Raleigh has been invited to help with the turtle egg collection and hatchery, construct a trail that runs behind the beach and plant trees to reforest the area behind the beach. Living on this stunning beach and interacting with these stunning creatures will be a once in a lifetime experience
My Fundraising deadline is the end of November
Thanks again
