In May this year we are running 50km to raise money for Arthur Rank Hospice.
In September / October 2022, Alex’s dad, Nick, received wonderful end of life care in Arthur Rank. They have a team of amazing nurses and medical professionals who offered not only medical support to Nick, but also emotional help to the whole family. Alex’s family were given a small apartment on site and extra beds in Nick’s room so they could be there at all times, and also received psychological support when needed. Along with the daily tea, cake and friendly faces, Arthur Rank made it possible for their family to be together in the best way, under the worst circumstances.
None of us have ever run an ultra before so it will be a challenge for us all! Alex and Nick shared their passion for running and used to enter many races together. Nick was an ultra runner himself, and although we aren’t quite running his furthest distance (100 miles!) we know he would still be proud of what we are hoping to achieve.
