Story
In April 2024, I will running the London Landmarks Half Marathon for Anaphylaxis UK.
Anaphylaxis is a life-threatening allergic reaction to allergens such as food, medicine or insect stings.
My sister, Christina, was born was with life threatening allergies to nuts, fish and sesame amongst others. Her serious allergies have caused anxiety throughout her own life and for those around her surrounding travel, eating out and changing life stages such as university or starting work.
Much of the risk and associated worry can be managed by increasing awareness of how to tackle challenges such as Epi-pen administration, and advocating for stricter regulation in food-handling environments.
Anaphylaxis UK have been supporting people living with serious allergies for 30 years, offering evidence-based information for individuals and their families, for businesses and for schools and other places of education.
Thank you so much in advance for donating whatever you can, it will make a massive difference in enabling people with serious allergies to live a normal, safe life.
