SOBER PINKTOBER
If you know me, you know I loooovvve a glass of Rose or a G&T!
I've set myself the challenge of going sober for October to kick off the 6 month count down of pre-wedding dieting AND more importantly to raise money for PAH Breast Unit and all the boobies they look after - a charity very close to my heart!
If you'd like to join me in this challenge just email Tor on Victoria.Gerlis@pah.nhs.uk
Sober Pinktober
We are a charity devoted to raising awareness of breast cancer in the local community and conducting clinical trials researching treatments of breast cancer. We have been directly involved in over 30 breast cancer clinical trials, and some of the drugs which our unit has trialled are now part of the standard NHS breast cancer treatment nationwide.
We also provide aftercare services, once the number of hospital treatments has decreased. This is an essential time for patients as they may feel lost and in need of emotional support. For this we provide a program called Moving On from diagnosis, which helps patients learn about nutrition, relaxation and mind fitness. Exercise classes are also available to enable women to regain their confidence as well as keeping fit and gaining support though peers.
Why you should go sober
As well as helping people with cancer, there are numerous benefits of going sober for the month. You’ll feel healthier, happier and have increased energy levels! Not to mention all the money you will save by leaving the alcohol behind.
During Breast Cancer Awareness Month we are asking all our amazing supporters to help us put on fundraising events no matter how big or small. Each year we aim to make it bigger and better, and know with you support we can achieve this.Call the Charity Office on 01279 827857 to find out more.
