Story
I am proud to be walking a marathon with the University of Edinburgh Nursing Society for BEAT. Those of you who know me will know how important this cause is to me personally, but also know that it is a fantastic charity that seeks to help those with eating disorders, and to those around them (as well as providing education, research and awareness about eating disorders). Eating disorders are truly devastating, so please donate whatever you can if you can!
Here is what the Nursing Society have to say about the cause:
The University of Edinburgh Nursing Society members and friends are taking part in a sponsored Walk on 24th October, to raise money for our named Charity Beat. Eating Disorders are devastating, and the more conversations we can start, awareness we can make, money we can raise, the more people we can support. As a society we are committed to Beat and are passionate to do all we can to help.
Beat are the UK's leading Eating Disorder Charity that aim to end the pain and suffering of eating disorders amongst sufferers, their families, professionals and constantly campaign for more funding and better education surrounding eating disorders.
Society members and friends can choose what distance they are going to walk which ranges from 5K up to a full marathon.
We are so grateful for any donations no matter how big or small, and encourage everyone to read more about Beat's incredible work here https://www.beateatingdisorders.org.uk/
Thank you so much,
Alex
