Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am taking part in Stoptober for Kicks Count as their spreading awareness about foetal movement saved my Albie!!
I was 5 days overdue & and had been in for reduced movement twice prior to the third and final time when Albie was delivered via emergency c section in the space of 4 days.
I thought I was be a drama queen but I’m so pleased I listened to my body!
When I was going in for surgery, the surgeon said we’re performing the emergency section as we think baby could be holding the cord, or it’s wrapped around something.
After Albie was delivered safely, 7lbs @ 22.03 on 11/09/2019, the surgeon told me he was going to run some tests on the umbilical cord. He came back a short while later & told Rob & I that we were very lucky and that we’d saved our baby’s life - well done for listening to your body (his exact words!) by coming in again.
Albie’s movement was reduced due to my placenta breaking down.
I knew that Albie loved water - being in the bath, swimming - so the night I had a bath & couldn’t feel him moving properly, I knew that something was up.
Don’t be embarrassed by going to hospital for the 3rd (or however many) time. Listen to your body!!!
Without Kicks Count our story could have ended very differently & I owe them a lot!
