Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

No this isn't a joke, and yes, you have read it correctly. I've signed up to do a 10k.

Surely this is worth sponsoring?

As you may know I've not been known for being active. Last year I started getting fit, but running was still something I struggled with. Anyhow after a number of months I've set myself a challenge. Can I run 10k?

My Nan had several strokes and it was also a stroke that took her from us. I also see a lot of people through my job who are living with the effects of stroke, both physical and psychological.

This is why I have chosen to run this to support the Stroke Association and their work.
