We’re the only charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. That’s why we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.

Story

I'm really excited to be running my first marathon for a cause very very close to my heart. Child abuse is preventable not inevitable!

The statistics are startling! 1 in 5 children in the UK have suffered abuse or neglect. The NSPCC works across the UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man to protect children today and prevent abuse from happening tomorrow.

Last year Childline counsellors carried out almost 280,000 counselling sessions with children and young people. They were there to help them when they felt no one else would listen. And their Childline website received almost 3.2 million visits, providing information and advice to help young people overcome any worries they had.

£25 could pay for 4 schools to have Buddy kits, so children can take home a fun reminder of how to speak out and stay safe.

£180 could pay for 1 helpline practitioner’s shift, providing vital help and support to adults worried about a child's welfare.

£500 could pay for a phenomenal 125 calls to our Childline service from children who feel like they have nowhere else to turn.
