We are walking the incredible distance of just over 100km to raise money for Oxfam, which will be a pretty incredible feat if we can manage it.
Any amount donated, so matter how small will go towards helping people around the world better their lives. Here are a few examples of what Oxfam does!
In 2014 Oxfam reached 11 million
people in 52 countries, and millions
more are benefiting from changes
in governments’ policy and practice
influenced by Oxfam.
In Syria, and surrounding countries they estimate they have reached 1million people, delivering safe water to around 500,000 people in Damascus city and the surrounding province.
In the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan they have reached more than 730 000 people with life-saving support including clean water, toilets and hygiene essentials.
• In West Africa Oxfam are working with health authorities to provide gloves, masks, overalls, boots, goggles, and other items to teams carrying out vital public health work to help prevent the spread of Ebola.
• Currently 400,000 people around the world are benefiting from Oxfam’s support to improve their crops, goods or services.
• The global network of Oxfam campaigners have been making the world a greener, safer, fairer place.
