We provide welfare and practical support to seafarers and their families in need.

Story

Ladies & Gents.

On the 17th of April 2011 I will be running the London Marathon in aid of the Sailors society.

The organisation looks after our seafarers in distress across the globe against a range of hardships which to this day prevail, be it through sub standard conditions, piracy or personal tragedy the society is there to offer support.

With our contribution the sailors' society can continue to visit ships in port and provide the seafarers with clubs & welfare centers, pastoral, spiritual & financial support and family liaison.

Here are specific examples of the impact our efforts and money will assist:

o £1,150 enables the Society to run the minibus service in Antwerp where seafarers are often berthed miles from amenities, for 3 months
o £285 a month will support the running costs for our Indian Port Chaplain in Visakhapatnam
o £200 a month supports the Sailors’ Society food programme in Tema, Ghana
o $10 buys an international phone credit for seafarers to contact their loved ones

Those of us in the Maritime community are aware of the hardships a seafarer can face.

Please help the society and put your trust in me, every donation is valuable..
