Message from Alex and Betty
Remarkably this year we are running the London Marathon together.
We would really appreciate any donations to make all the arguments during our training runs worth it!
We would really appreciate any donations and thanks very much in advance!
We're raising funds for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) and specifically to remember Harry Dubois.
Here is Harry's story.
Debbie and Mario Dubois and their family. Sadly, they lost their 17-year-old son, Harry from an undiagnosed heart condition. He was a kind and caring young man and much loved by all his friends and family.
The current official figures are 12 young people in this country die every week from undetected heart conditions, although this number is likely to be much higher as statistics become accurate.
1000HeartsforHarry, working with CRY, raises funds for young people to have their hearts tested at screenings across the country.
All the donations go toward paying for young people to have their hearts screened.
So far, they have screened over 3000 children and young people, a small but significant number have had heart issues, which have been detected at an early stage and we hope to have helped to extend and preserve their lives.
All donations, however big or small, will be greatly appreciated and if you’re able to like/share/raise awareness for 1000heartsforharry as well, that would be fantastic.
With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practices and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young. By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions. See how your support can help by visiting www.c-r-y.org.uk
