Story
Cancer is a horrible disease that 1 out of 2 people will get in their lives, and it affects all of us whether its through family members, friends or loved ones.
Cancer has effected my family and friends, with my own dad having an aggressive tumour called a Ewing's Sarcoma in 1987 when he was just 16, and my Uncle Matt unfortunately passing away due to cancer. Due to intense chemotherapy my dad did survive, however had to have a prosthetic bone in his leg due to the aforementioned tumour.
5 years ago, in 2017, a head-shave took place to mark 30 years since the start of my dads recovery, and now 5 years after that, I am doing this event to not only mark 35 years since then, but 5 years since my last haircut as I haven't had a singular haircut since that head-shave.
With doing this head-shave, myself, my father and hopefully a few others hope to raise money for Cancer Research UK which is an amazing charity that does research that will help everyone who is affected by cancer, whether it be people with the disease or their families, their friends etc. Any and all donations made go towards potentially life saving research to try and beat cancer once and for all.
The head-shave itself is scheduled to take place on the 27th August at the Grove in Stapenhill, Burton on Trent. Anyone is welcome to come down, whether its to get involved or simply watch!
