For over a decade it’s been a goal of mine to run the London Marathon but I’ve always failed to gain a place via the public ballot . With old age fast approaching, not to mention the accompanying weight gain and general aches and pains, I’ve decided to go down the charity route and couldn’t think of a more deserving charity to support than The Royal British Legion.

For a long time many people have sacrificed their safety, and on many occasions, lives in order to allow the rest of us to live freely. Since the end of the First World War The Royal British Legion has provided support to the Armed Forces community, not only to serving men and women, but to veterans and their families.
