Story
Over 80,000 young people experience homelessness in the UK every year.
Centrepoint work to give homeless young people a future. To realise this future they work directly with over 1,300 young people aged 16-25 every year. They also collaborate with other organisation across the UK to help tackle the issues that lead to them becoming homeless.
Prince William has been Patron for this Charity since 2005 and he plays an active role in all aspects of Centrepoint. He even helped young people directly when he spent 2 days volunteering in the accommodation services and also by sleeping on the streets.
Although I am not brave enough to sleep on the streets, I do realise what a privilege it is to have a warm dry bed under a roof, and for those of you who really knows me, sleeping in a comfortable bed is something I would not give up in a hurry. However, to contribute to such a good cause I am willing to run – yes run – 10k on Sunday 10th July. I am appealing to you to donate to this worthy cause to not only encourage me to work hard on completing this race, but to give young people a chance to experience a little of what we take for granted.
