Story
I'll be running the Sheffield Half Marathon at the end of March in support of Anthony Nolan. This is my first ever half marathon, and the Sheffield hills supposedly make this one of the hardest ones out there, so please support my valiant efforts with some generous donations!
Anthony Nolan is a charity that aims to save the lives of people with blood cancer and blood disorders.
Every 14 minutes, someone in the UK is diagnosed with blood cancer. For someone with blood cancer, a stem cell transplant could be their last chance of survival. Your support could help to give that person, their family and their friends a second chance of life.
Anthony Nolan is the charity that makes lifesaving connections between people with blood cancer and incredible strangers ready to donate their stem cells. They’re saving lives right now. Three lives a day, in fact.
By growing the stem cell register, carrying out ground-breaking research and providing the best post-transplant care, they’re giving families a future.
It costs £40 to add someone to the stem cell register, so if I hit my fundraising target there will be 6 extra people on the register - which means 6 extra chances of survival for those needing urgent stem cell transplants.
