Story
My son Alex is now 11 years old . He had told me quite some time ago now that he hoped to be sponsored to grow his hair and then donate his sponsor money and his hair, since then I shaved his head twice (corona cuts 🙈😂😂) and took him for a 'back to school' hair cut at the barber's. I had not realised how serious he was. At first I thought having long hair would bother him and he wouldn't be able to stick to it, but he's not had a hair cut for 2 years now and although he loves his long hair he can't wait to give it to someone who needs it. He's really proud to have grown enough hair to make a wig a raise enough cash to found the cost of making one too.
He had hoped to originally cut his hair around his tenth birthday but hair takes way longer to grow than we had organised assumed.
Being still so young, I explained to Alex absolutely not 1 penny of money raised would be for him to spend and he said to me, "I know, I just think it'd be cool if an ill kid with no hair knew they had their nice new wig cause I'd helped them and made them smile. Actually, I'd really like that".
Moments like those make me so incredibly proud of him, then he said and maybe I'll make the news, that'd be cool too. 🙈😂😂😂😂
So proud of my champ beautiful inside and out!
Alex is holding a Funday at his football clubhouse grounds. Where he hope to increase the funds made for LPT. It should be great with a bouncy castle, a face painter, inflate football and much more. All Alex's idea and the main event will be Alex getting his haircut for all the Funday goers to watch and see. There will also be a live internet feed to watch it happen.
Any donations would not only mean the world to myself and Alex but also to all of the children who suffer hair loss due to illness. The donations of money will help The Little Princess Trust turn the hair that Alex donates into a lovely wig for a child who deserves to feel beautiful.
When a child loses their hair to cancer or another condition, we'll be there with a free, real hair wig to help restore their confidence and identity. We won't stop until the research that we fund ends childhood cancer forever. Promise. Please visit us at www.littleprincesses.org.uk to find out how you can help us give young people back what cancer takes away. The Trust relies solely on the efforts of enthusiastic community fundraisers. We receive no formal funding. Please help to raise money for us so that we can help more families.
