Story
Back in April 2019, Ella, my 12 year old daughter fell ill and was admitted to hospital with stomach pains, we had a couple of days of tests and were told that she has a large mass in her lower tummy area and we were transferred to Birmingham Children’s Hospital in the middle of the night, the next few hours resulted in Ella having surgery 11 hours after being admitted to Ward 5. The mass was larger than any other internal organ and was removed successfully with the news that it was benign a few weeks later.
The care, speed and skills of all the people involved in helping Ella throughout her ordeal at Birmingham Children’s Hospital are first class and we as a family cannot thank them enough for helping us through our ordeal. We were all super scared and lots of what if’s were in our mind.
I have never run a half marathon before and to some people it will be easy, but for a wine loving, chubby, unfit 45 year old it will be a big challenge - but minute to what Ella went through - she is a superstar and I would like to raise as much as possible for the Hospital as it is a fabulous place and lots of hard working people perform amazing things on lots of little people.
I would love to raise over £2000, if you can spare anything I would be grateful as we never thought we would be a patient at the hospital and as a family we are truly grateful for mending our little girl.
