Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Ivy Gibbs, my Grandma, died last year. She was 92 and had suffered from dementia for over ten years. Seeing how the condition robbed my Grandma of her memories, her independence and her speech made me very sad, and I decided that I would try to help in whatever way I could. The Alzheimer's Society funds research into Alzheimer's and dementia, with a view to stopping (and hopefully one day curing) this degenerative condition. It also provides support and advice to families like mine, when someone we love faces life after their diagnosis.

Those of you who know me will know I love running, so what better way to raise money  than by running the Reading half-marathon and asking you to sponsor me. Currently I am training three times a week and I intend to update this page regularly between now and Sunday 22nd March. Thank you for visiting, and thank you for giving whatever you can afford for what I hope you will agree is a just cause.

In memory of Ivy Georgina Gibbs, née Hiscock, 1921-2014, my Grandma xxx
