Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Sunday 2 May 2010, I'm taking part in the first ever charity abseil down Battersea Power Station to raise money for the Mines Advisory Group (MAG). MAG is a UK-based landmine charity that saves lives by locating and removing landmines and unexploded bombs from countries affected by conflict. MAG was founded in 1989, was co-awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1997. For more information, please visit www.maginternational.org
Battersea Power Station needs no introduction, and on 2 May 2010, I've decided to conquer my slight fear of heights once and for all by taking part in this incredibly worthwhile event. Before you ask, the abseil won't be down one of the chimneys, but will be approximately 100 feet from the first roof, and, I hasten to add, there is pre-abseil training and it will be fully supervised and insured!
So, if you'd like to support a worthy cause, any donation you'd be able to make would be very gratefully received.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Many thanks in advance for any contributions you'll be able to make, and I can promise I'll be going through with this, slightly scary prospect that it might be!
