In December 2019 I tragically lost my Grandad (Derek Pitt) to a heart attack. We were very close and I treasure my memories with him.  Derek was a devoted family man and a passionate golfer and would spend as much time on the golf course as possible. Although a keen sportsman in 2001 he suffered his first heart attack and if it wasn’t for the research and hard work from organisations such as the British heart foundation I wouldn’t have got to spend another special 18 years with him in my life which is why I choose the BHF as my charity - i will be running in honour of Derek and as a massive thank you to the British heart foundation for everything they do.
