A 1.6 mile sea swim from the Island of Great Cumbrae to Largs Yaht Haven on the mainland. Hopefully avoiding the jelly fish. I have a time to beat from last year. This year, I have recruited a friend and we have been out training in the sea, initially without wetsuits but as it has got colder I have relented but will try to stick with just a sleeveless wetsuit for the swim.

Gillian's Saltire Appeal  makes a real difference to the lives of cancer sufferers and those around them.  The appeal raises funds to provide and maintain respite accommodation for cancer sufferers, their families and carers in Ayrshire and other parts of Scotland.   So please help this worthy cause and give generously: whether or not the weather wins on the day.  The swim will take place on Saturday 19th September 2015,
