Story
The rate of babies born premature or sick in the UK is rising with 1 in every 7 babies needing neonatal care. Bliss is continuing the fight to improve outcomes and quality of life for these babies - but we need your help to do that.
Both of our babies needed to be cared for in the NICU! Dexter was full term but was poorly when he was born and required some extra care for the first 8 days of his life. 3 and a half years later Penny was born at 29weeks and required quite complex care over a few months in the NICU. Both received wonderful care from the amazing team at Leighton Hospital and we endeavour to support them as we feel so blessed to have Dexter and Penny healthy and happy at home.
Penny's stint in NICU sparked the idea to raise money for charity. Since 2018 we have raised over £32,000 for various charities - including BLISS, Leighton NICU and other local projects - under our idea of "Every Penny Counts".
Simon ran the London Marathon in 2019 and has once again decided to dust off his running trainers (torture shoes) and run the London Marathon for BLISS.
Any donations gratefully received and I am sure they will motivate Simon in his training and running on the day!
Thanks for all of your ongoing support. We feel forever blessed.
