We fund lifesaving research to tackle heart and circulatory diseases

Story

On 13 May 2017 Alex dragged me up Scafell Pike and then made it worthwhile by proposing to me at the top. Despite my moaning all the way back down we married in the presence of many friends and family on 26 October 2019.

Sadly and very suddenly on 1 March 2022 aged just 45 Alex suffered a massive heart attack and left us. Leaving a family without a father, husband, son and brother and many friends who miss him greatly.

We are forever grateful for the amazing memories we have, but this will not change the fact that the opportunity to share more has been taken from us. We want to raise money for the British Heart Foundation to fund their research and efforts to help stop this happening to other families.

Myself and the 'Appleby witches' as Alex named us, Helen, Philippa, Gemma, Charlie  and Lou, are dragging ourselves up and down the same mountain on the anniversary of Alex's and my engagement. I know times are tough, but please give as generously as you are able, this is no mean feat!

And I have one other ask of you - please as soon as you are able to get your blood pressure checked and ask for your doctors surgery to add it to your records if you don't have it done there. Most people do not know they have high blood pressure, but it is a leading cause of heart attacks.

With love and thanks

Kirsty, Helen, Philippa, Gemma, Charlie  and Lou x
