Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In October 2019 me and three others will fly out to Katmandu, Nepal and begin an 18 day hike up to the base camp of Mount Everest in the Himalayas. I am taking part in this epic trek to raise money for the Ally Cadence Trust for children with Spinal Muscular Atrophy. One of my closest friends, one whom I served alongside in Afghanistan, was given the devastating news earlier this year that his 1 year old daughter Grace, has SMA type 1. Where there is no cure for SMA Type 1, the Ally Cadence Trust provides vital support for those families who have a child with SMA and helps make everyday life that little bit easier.
SMA Type 1, also known as Floppy Baby Syndrome, is the biggest genetic killer of under 2's in the UK. Although a life expectancy of 2 years can be given, around 80% of children sadly pass away before their first birthday. Muscle weakness can result in problems with feeding, swallowing, breathing and moving. A common cold can easily turn into pneumonia which can result in respiratory failure.

My goal is to raise $5000 over the next 18 months. Please dig deep and donate all you can spare for this well worthy cause.
