Story
On the 24th August I will be taking on the notorious NC 500 for prostate cancer, my route will start and finish at Inverness and it will take me 500 miles, up 35,000 ft (mount Everest is 29,000 ft!) and along the rugged, challenging, and unforgiving coastline of Scotland. I am looking to complete this in 3 days, 1 night in a b&b in Dundonnell and another night wild camping along the A836 near Reay, or if I'm feeling good on the bike I will cycle on a little further, so the last days push into Inverness isn't as gruelling!
Day 1 - Inverness - Dundonnell 172 miles
Day 2- Dundonnell - Reay 179 miles
Day 3 - Reay - Inverness 177 miles
I'm doing this in aid of Prostate Cancer, my Dad has recently been diagnosed with this and like a lot of people you dont think cancer or an illness will ever affect your family but when it does it changes you, your family and the way you look at the future.
My goal is to spread the awareness of prostate cancer, you dont always have the signs and symptoms that you may have it, but being aware of prostate cancer, getting checked regularly if you have the "prostate cancer risk factors" or just go for a random check! dont put it off...
