Story
In summer 2019, my brother James and his friend Tom are competing in the Race Across America, which is dubbed the world's toughest bicycle race. They must cycle 3000 miles, across 12 states, and climb over 170000 feet in just nine days. They are doing this to raise money for the Prevent Breast Cancer charity.
I am running the Manchester marathon in April 2019 to try to help James and Tom with their fundraising goal for Prevent Breast Cancer. This is an amazing charity, dedicated to the prediction and prevention of breast cancer (see below for more details about the charity). My brother James is a breast cancer surgeon who works closely with this charity.
Prevent Breast Cancer is the only UK charity entirely dedicated to the prediction and prevention of breast cancer, and is committed to freeing the world from the disease altogether. Unlike many cancer charities, they are focused on preventing, rather than curing. Promoting early diagnosis, screening and lifestyle changes, they believe they can stop the problem before it starts. And being situated at the only breast cancer prevention centre in the UK, they're right at the front-line in the fight against the disease.
