Yes from 5th to 12th February 2023 I will be travelling to the Arctic Circle to take part in the Royal British Legions’ Arctic survival challenge. Why you ask would someone who detests the cold, hates camping and loves her creature comforts decide to spend nights in sub zero temperatures sleeping in a snow hole and traversing across the frozen landscapes of the Arctic? The answer is simple,  it’s a challenge for a really good cause, the Royal British Legion. 

I come from a family who have served in the armed forces not just in my generation, but my parents and grandparents. We need to look after those that protect us, not just whilst they are protecting us, but when they come back from conflict and have their own challenges beyond that of their memories of war. 

So please if you can spare the odd pound or thousand, please sponsor me. I promise to complete the challenge with the knowledge that my insanity is not in vain!!
