Story
On 13th September 2015 I will be running the Great North Run in memory of my close friend Dr Aidan Brunger who was tragically killed in August last year whilst on his medical placement in Borneo.
I had the pleasure of becoming friends with Aidan 5 years ago when i moved to Rainham Mark Grammar school to take my A levels and since then our friendship grew tremendously, along with the many other lads in our group. Aidan was an exemplary student who excelled in all aspects of his studies which was admirable considering he still maintained a great social life in which I got to share many great memories.
It is a pleasure to have known such an extraordinary individual and I am honoured to be raising money for a charity in which he believed in deeply.
Anthony Nolan saves lives by:
- Matching individuals who donate their blood stem cells or bone marrow to those who need life saving transplants
- Educating young people about the lifesaving difference they can make by joining the register
- Conducting groundbreaking research to improve the success rates of transplants and improve the lives of all the people with blood cancer.
- Supporting, advising and providing information for people with blood cancer and their families
