Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On April 23rd I will be standing on the start line ready to run the 2023 London Marathon for Dogs Trust. I have much to be grateful to the Dogs Trust for and I have sponsored dogs with them for many years. I am honoured to be running for them this year. I am actually enjoying the training so far(!) and I am looking forward to raising as much as possible for this wonderful charity.
As most people will know, Dogs Trust aims to rehome or foster every dog who comes into their care as quickly as possible. In some cases, dogs cannot be rehomed and the Trust will care for them as long as they need to.
What is less well known is the support Dogs Trust provides to some of the most vulnerable people in Society.
The Hope Project provides free veterinary care for dog owners experiencing homelessness, and also support and advice to homelessness services on becoming dog-friendly.
The Freedom Project works with refuge organisations for families fleeing domestic abuse. Dogs Trust helps to find safe homes for dogs in need, providing them with food, toys, bedding and veterinary care. This empowers owners to leave their abuser in the knowledge that their dog is cared for. When it is safe to do so, dogs are reunited with their owner.
I really appreciate you reading this and for considering donating to this amazing charity.
Thank you so much
Alex xx
