Story
This year I am running in memory of my Grandad who sadly lost his fight to prostate cancer 5 years ago after it spread to his bones. Both during his fight and afterwards Macmillan supported my family. To put it simply they were a god send in particular to my grandma and mother. They gave their time and care in order to help us all through the grieving process and no words could ever thank them enough for everything they have done.
I decided to run the Jane Tomlinson Run for All on Saturday (8th July) giving me 2 weeks to train (I'm mad know). Having previously done the 10K in 2012 with my mum I know how fulfilling and proud it can be crossing that finishing line to the cheering and thankful faces of those in the crowd. That year we supported Leukaemia and Lymphoma research. This year I will be running alongside my friends and colleagues from The Thomas Osborne Pub in Roundhay who are also running for various cancer charities.
Macmillan Cancer support aims to improve lives of those living and who are affected by cancer. Sadly that seems to be far too many of us with 1 in 3 people contracting cancer at some point in our lives. Therefore this cause is very much needed and a very much appreciated cause.
So please dig deep and donate. No matter how small the donation everything contributes towards making a change to those affected by this awful disease. Thank you, it really does mean the world to me!
