We fund research and raise awareness to create a world free from meningitis

Story

In September 2001, my best friends sister, Anne Fletcher, died from staphylococcal septicaemia.  It was very sudden and a heartbreaking time for all close to Anne.

Her sister, Ruth and myself are running the Great North Run in the hope of raising lots of money for the Meningitis Research Foundation. They do excellent work both in terms of research into meningitis and septicaemia and by providing support to those affected or bereaved.

Anyone that knows either of us will know that we're not the sportiest of people; the run will be a massive challenge but definitely worth it!

Any donations, no matter what the size, are very much appreciated by Ruth, myself and the Meningitis Research Foundation.

Thank you xxx

Meningitis is deadly; killing and seriously disabling in hours. Small children and young adults are high risk, but all ages can be affected. Globally 1,000 people die daily. We fundraise to invest in research, campaign for vaccines, provide symptom information and support those already affected.
