Story
Everyone knows someone who's been affected by cancer. That's why we're raising money for Cancer Research UK. At the start of this year, a friend was diagnosed with cancer. It turned his, and his families world upside down. Thankfully, he's made a full recovery. But he might not have done so if it wasn't for the advances in treatment that Cancer Research helps to fund.
In an effort to help support this good work Alex, Wayne and Andy have agreed (or, in some cases, pressurised into) riding the most indirect, challenging, off-road route from the West coast to the East coast.
This isn't the usual coast-to-coast that can be done in a couple days.Over 7 days we'll cover 211 off road miles on rough mountain track and bridle way. We'll climb 27,500 feet (just short of Mount Everest) over some of the toughest and steepest mountains in England. And probably fall off a few times.
If you know us, you'll know our aspirations to be super-fit, toned endurance athletes are often undone by the fact our training sessions often involve an hour on the bike followed by two (or more) in the pub. It's going to be a challenge!
We hope you can support us to help Cancer Research find ways to beat cancer sooner.
Thank you.
Alex, Andy and Wayne.
