Story
Thank you for taking the time you visit my just giving page.
I have been diagnosed with epilepsy all of my life. When I was younger it was extremely difficult to control from the age of 5 after my first diagnosis.
I felt tired most of the time both at home and school as I had generalised epilepsy and seizures could happen at any moment while awake or asleep. School was difficult for me with much time spent sleeping after the day time seizures, I’m fortunate that I have always had a loving, supportive family around me to help me every day.
When I turned eleven years of age, the medication started to limit the seizures down to zero, with only a single episode when I was 15 years old.
I continued to be seizure free up until 4 years ago when they started again, but this time only when I was sleeping, with the help of medication I haven’t had a seizure since June 2021.
Having been in and out of work within libraries and school offices over the past 10 years, I am currently working voluntarily within an office in an secondary school/ academy which helps my personal well-being, learning and social interaction with supportive colleagues.
Currently I am training to complete a 25km walk over all 16 London bridges on 9th September 2023 to raise money for the Epilepsy Society UK, which is very close to my heart.
Doing something to generate sponsorship and funds which will help support others who have a similar life as mine is very important to me!
Thank you for your support…
