About The Christie:
“The Christie charity provides enhanced services over and above what the NHS funds for more than 44,000 cancer patients treated at The Christie every year. Your support can help us to fund life-changing and potentially life-saving projects that will benefit cancer patients both now and in the future”
As most people know this year my family received the news that my dad had a rare form of cancer called CUP (Cancer of unknown primary (CUP) is when a secondary cancer is diagnosed, but even after tests have been carried out, doctors can't tell where the cancer first started. The primary cancer is unknown) if it wasn’t for the Christie’s and their multiple tests we wouldn’t have found out the diagnosis that we received due to other doctors telling my dad he had gristle. Thanks to the Christie’s my dad has now been under two clinical trials and we have now received the amazing news that it is shrinking. Those clinical trials wouldn’t have been found if it wasn’t for peoples donations that is why I am running the half marathon to raise as much money as I can to support the Christie’s and their work. Not only am I running the half marathon but my dad is running alongside me showing that no matter what you can always do something if you put your mind to it and to say he is running the half marathon whilst having cancer and all his treatment it is really something else and there are no excuses and shows how much we want to help like they have helped us throughout this whole process.
