Hello friends!
Huge thanks for clicking on my page... this October I'll be running my first London Marathon (eek!).
I’m delighted to be running to raise money for a fantastic charity; The Terrence Higgins Trust. This charity has done so much by funding critical HIV research, providing informational and professional support to many, as well as lobbying for institutional change and fighting stigmatisation which still endures today.
Over 40 years since the first recorded case, HIV/AIDS is still a major global public health issue. In 2020 an estimated 37.7 million people were living with HIV and 680,000 people died of AIDS-related illnesses.
I hope we can raise some money to help many people who still suffer stigmatisation and illness due to HIV in the UK. So much has already been done, but more needs to be actioned if the UK is to put an end to new infections in coming years.
P.S. whilst everyone has the right to remain anonymous on here, if you donate please let me know who you are so I can thank you personally!
