Story

The Neil Alderman Trawden Celtic 7 Memorial Race - 28th - 31st May 2020
Sponsored by PH Electrical & Hope Technology

Many Trawden AC members, Pendle & Burnley Grand Prix competitors and local runners will remember Neil Alderman with fondness; a gentle giant of a man who loved the racing the local trails/fells and always had time for a chat with his fellow runner.

After sadly passing away late last year, as a Club we wanted to honour Neil and organise an event to raise money for Pendleside Hospice in his name.

Whilst we are all downhearted with the lack of racing, especially with the cancellation of Bowley Hill Trail Race and our Trawden 7 Trail Race, we thought it fitting to revive the original TRAWDEN CELTIC 7 route for this occasion.

Neil had been a long-term member of Trawden Celtic FC and raced the Trawden Celtic 7 before joining as a Trawden AC runner.

Trawden Celtic FC staged the race from 1985 and throughout the 1990s as part of the Pendle & Burnley Grand Prix. The course takes a challenging road/light trail loop from the Recreation Ground through the village of Wycoller.

Run as you like.... whether its competing for times or take a relaxing run around a legendary course!!

PRIZES:

The event is kindly sponsored by PH Electrical and Hope Technology who have provided Sportsshoes vouchers for the winners, a range of prizes for spotprizes AND A fabulous Hope R2 Headtorch which will be raffled to a lucky winner!
