As Part of the “Alcoans In Motion” scheme a group of employees have suggested a fund raising event for the Severn Hospice. Sadly, as many of you know, our colleague, Mark Painter, was diagnosed with cancer last April and since then he had fought a long and courageous battle however he passed away early June leaving a wife and two children. Mark had worked at AFS for over five years in manufacturing.

 The Severn Hospice have provided Mark and his family with care and support, and the family have been extremely impressed and grateful for the support they offered.  The hospice, which largely operates through charitable donations and grants, helps so many individuals and families in similar types of situations to Mark, in the local area.

We therefore, consider it to be very appropriate to raise money for the Severn Hospice who played such a critical role in supporting Mark and his family. Subsequently, we are planning to hold our own sponsored walk. The walk will take place from AFS Telford on Saturday 30 June, starting at 10.30am, the route will be approximately 5miles, and will involve a loop of the town park via Hollinswood.
