We will be starting Coast to Coast on Monday the 3rd of August from Silloth on Solway and finishing on Thursday the 6th of August in Hartlepool.

Albion is an Aveling & Porter showman's engine which has been owned and restored by the Bowron family sinse 1999. It is a twin cylinder compound engine, producing 5nhp and weighing 13 tonnes. The engine is a 2 speed engine which will reach speeds of 15mph! (Which by the way is really fast when you're using a steering wheel which has half a turn of play on it and is 40 turns from lock to lock!) But will normally average 8mph. On the front of the engine there is a generator run by the engine which produces 15kw of 110 DC electric which usually powers the lights around the canopy, but is also capable of running the fairground rides. Supporting Albion will be our 1965 Scammel Highwayman, Duchess, who is celebrating her 50th Birthday this year. Duchess will be carrying all of the coal and tools which will be needed for the journey. It will also carry a spare 250 gallons of water.
