Story
Schnauzerfest pays for the veterinary treatment needed by dogs rescued from puppy farms. With our big weekend of fundraising walks in October under the uncertain cloud COVID-19 joining our Step Out For Schnauzerfest Challenge is a great way to see what we can all still do. Even during lockdown. Even with restrictions. Walking alone, but joining others in spirit for rescue dogs in 2020.
As organised gatherings are now impossible, but being outside with our dogs is allowed & necessary, we want to celebrate this. Puppy farm dogs never get to be outside. They never breathe fresh air. We still can, even for limited time each day under lockdown.
We can look ahead to when this is over and walking with others happens again. By being out for puppy farm dogs, by taking a regular Step Out For Schnauzerfest, funds will be there to help the dogs who will need it like never before.
How you fundraise and how much is up to you. I am donating £1 for each walk I record here, which I aim will be twice a week - there are 27 weeks between 1st April and our October Weekend of Walks, should they happen this year.
By sharing your walks, and celebrating being with your dogs, even while restrictions tighten it shows we're here for each other. Step by step we'll get through it.
